Crafting and recipes in The Blood of Dawnwalker
There are 44 recipes in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and each one teaches Coen to craft a single consumable in the crafting panel. Recipes are found in the world rather than unlocked from a skill tree, so crafting capacity grows with exploration rather than with character level.
The reason to bother is simple. Food and drink are deliberately weakened while Coen is in combat, but consumables crafted from a recipe are not reduced at all. That makes a crafted draught in a quickslot a genuine mid-fight resource, and an ordinary meal a pre-fight one.
What each recipe needs
Every recipe page lists the item it produces, the exact ingredients and counts it consumes, and links straight through to each of those ingredients so their sources can be checked in a click. With only 45 ingredients feeding 44 recipes, most reagents are shared between several recipes.
That overlap is worth planning around. Burning a scarce ingredient on a minor draught can block a better recipe later, so it is worth reading the ingredient page and seeing what else wants the same reagent before committing the materials.
Finding recipes in Vale Sangora
Recipes turn up as loot, in merchant stock and as quest rewards, and each recipe page in The Blood of Dawnwalker lists every source the game files record for it. Merchant stock rotates on a refresh cycle, so a recipe that was not for sale on one visit may appear on a later one.
Recipes are also readable items, which means they sit in the inventory with a weight and a sale value until used. Once a recipe is learned the physical copy is no longer needed, and selling duplicates is one of the few ways a cluttered inventory can be trimmed without losing anything.
Crafting, quickslots and time
Crafted consumables behave like any other consumable once made: they can be assigned to quickslots and used with a single button in combat. Assigning them in advance matters, because the quickslot bar is part of the day and night equipment preset and swaps with the form.
Crafting itself is done from the panel rather than at a station, so there is no need to walk back to a settlement with a full satchel. That makes a gathering loop through Vale Sangora and a crafting session at the end of it one of the cheapest ways to prepare for a difficult quest.
